May 2, 2026 marks 9 months since Wyatt was tragically taken too soon. "Little Torres" mothers name is released to the public: Alison Ferrari. She has had 9 months to do the right thing: have her child interviewed by a forensic investigator. It is the ONLY THING Wyatt's parents have asked of her. To have the OPPORTUNITY TO TRY to get the 4-year old perspective of what happened at the cabin on August 2, 2025.

April 29, 2026 Since Cody Torres name was released to the public, he has deleted his Facebook and Instagram accounts.

April 28, 2026 Cody Torres (39 of Kihei; Journeyman Lineman) name was released to the public.

April 24, 2026 Wyatt's ohana were notified the certified autopsy report and death certificate should be completed in the coming weeks. The manner and cause of death is going to say "undetermined." Wyatt's mother, father, and godmother took a tour of the center where children (ages 5 and under) are interviewed. The lobby is welcoming, clean, and professional. The room where interviews are held, has an easel board and a cute kids table with chairs. It is cozy, safe, and comfortable. It is not scary nor intimidating. They don't understand what Alison Ferrari and Cody Torres push back is with allowing their child to be interviewed in such a safe and professional setting.

April 11, 2026 "Little Torres" turned 5 years old and still has NOT been interviewed by forensic investigators.

April 2, 2026 marks 8 months since Wyatt was tragically taken too soon. Wyatt's ohana still:

-does NOT have an autopsy report

-does NOT have a death certificate

-does NOT have answers

-does NOT have justice

Life without Wyatt isn’t real. It’s HELL.

December 15, 2025 Wyatt's ohana were introduced to the new detective assigned to Wyatt's case. For privacy, we will refer to this new detective as "Detective Beard."

December 1, 2025 Gregg Katayama (the original detective assigned to Wyatt's case on August 2, 2025) has been nothing short of disappointing. He spent the past 2 weeks out of the office, not investigating Wyatt's case, using up the last of his vacation pay, and retired today. He did NOT notify Wyatt's ohana of his retirement. They found out through coconut wireless.

October 24, 2025 was one of the hardest days. Celebrating Wyatt's 3rd birthday without him. So many people took photos and videos of themselves lighting a birthday candle and singing happy birthday to Wyatt. The family put together a slideshow of it. See the "Tributes" tab.

September 13, 2025 Family, friends, and the community gathered at Grace Bible Church in Kahului to mourn Wyatt Van Ness Barnes. It was followed by a Braaap braap ride- something Wyatt would have loved! Hundreds of motorcycles, dirt bikes, trucks, and cars lined up for an hour long ride honoring Wyatt. A celebration of life was held at the Kahului community center that afternoon. 

August 10, 2025 a GoFundMe fundraiser has been made to help support Wyatt's ohana navigate this unimaginable tragedy.
